First thing, let's get this up and out of the way ... Our sailboat racing sail fabric that we use building our hammocks has ONE quirk? ... when it's new, it is noisy.  With use, the crinkly sound lessens, but it will always have a bit of a sound.

That said, dp hopes you realize "all" of the advantages of our using this racing sail fabric.  To our knowledge, dp is unique using sail fabric for their hammocks.  The noise factor is the "only" complaint we have had to date and we hope you find this soft sound confirming, you have a very lightweight, unique product.

dp "ULTIMATE Hybrid" Hammock ...

The dp  "ULTIMATE Hybrid" Hammock is made with our dp double layer polyester sailboat sail fabric and has our dp Under-Quilt sewn-on.   Our Sailboat sail hammock fabric is Polyester and not stretchy nylon.  This creates a much flatter lay.   If you don't want a "saggy" hammock, a dp hammock is for you.

This hammock is a "dream" to backpack, set-up, and use.

We rate our dp quilts at 50* for most.  Some users claim down to 32*.

You can slide a ground pad between the hammock fabric layers and change the heat rating considerably.  This also keeps your ground pad in place while you move around in the hammock because you are really never touching the pad, only the top layer hammock fabric.

dp Polyester Hammock Sailboat sail fabric is 60" x 108" at cutting.   Underquilt is 80" x 50" at cutting.  Both finished sizes will be slightly smaller.

Tested to 240 pounds.

Caught in a COLD rain?  Our "Ultimate" hammock can be used as a rain poncho and/or a warm body wrap.   If the "Cozy" 100% polyester quilt insulation gets wet, it will dry quickly.  We actually recommend using our hammocks as a pack cover with the Sailboat sail fabric being 80-85% waterproof.  Again, if things get wet,  all will dry easily with a quick wipe or shake or with body heat in a very short time.

Weight ...   dp Ultimate Hybrid above weighs 23 ounces (700 grams)  without suspension.  That's less than 1 and 1/2 pounds.

Weight with dp Suspension ... That is Hammock, Under Quilt, and dp Suspension, right at 25 ounces ...

This hammock may change the hammock industry .... Again, your lay is nearly flat, easy to move around in, and built-in warmth

$189.95   Suspension is NOT included

_ dp Single Layer Fabric Hammock

Our single layer and nearly waterproof polyester sailboat sail fabric hammock can be used as a rain wrap poncho.

The sailboat sail material we use for our hammocks is polyester and does NOT stretch like nylon.

This creates a very comfortable, nearly flat lay.

If you don't like a saggy mattress, dp hammockzzz are for you.

Most weigh under 6 ounces.  Hammock above weighs 5 3/8 ounces (155 grams) without suspension.

Dimensions at cutting are 60" x 108".  Finished size will be slightly smaller.

Note:  This hammock is tested to 6 feet or less and  200 pounds.

Does not include suspension rigging

dp Double - Layer  Hammock ...

Picture

We highly recommend this hammock because ...

1) It is the strongest hammock we offer.

2) It is very versatile with multiple under insulation possibilities.

Put a closed cell ground pad between the layers and it eliminates an Under-Quilt.

Or "layer" a pad and Under-Quilt for really cold temps.

4)  Can be used as a rain wrap poncho.

5)  Maybe the best feature ... having our very little stretch polyester sailboat sail fabric doubled allows a nearly flat lay.

This Double Layer hammock has a sleeve pocket built in to install a ground pad for insulation, should you choose.

It also ups the load bearing weight to 240.

Dimensions at cutting are 60" x 108".  Finished size will be slightly smaller.

Hammock above  weighs  10 ounces  (307 grams) without suspension.

This hammock includes an automobile windshield insulation pad that can be used as a light weight, closed cell, heat reflective pad when put in the hammock sleeve .  OR, simply use the windshield pad as a ground pad for your bare feet?

dp Hammock Ultra-Light, 2-1/2 oz. Suspension Rigging ...

This photo shows our oak dowel, foot end rigging.

We hang our hammock foot end close to the tree for MANY reasons which are explained in your set-up directions.

To level your hammock, simply slide one end of the suspension up or down on the tree.

Our entire hammock suspension rigging above weighs just 2 - 1/2 ounces tested to 230 pounds.

dp Hammock Suspension works best with trees 4" - 10"  diameter and 12' - 18' feet apart

This photo shows our Head End tension adjusting wrap.

One tree strap is longer than the other to adjust for different diameter trees.

Our Head end adjusting rope is easy to adjust and undo.  Can do with gloves on.

FYI:  We have chosen not to use caribiners or metal adjusters due to adding extra weight and bulk for the small amount of time saved when setting-up.

We also have chosen not to use "Whoopie" slings due to the extra rope that is needed for Whoopies which also creates weight and bulk.

dp hopes you noticed what our hammock suspension rigging weighs ...

dp Hammock Bug Net ...

Picture

Our Bug Net is a head to waist design, completely adjustable, take with you, use only when needed, eliminating all the problems encountered with a hammock's sewn-on bug net.

It has always confused us having a sewn-on bug net to one's hammock when much of one's camping is done out of bug season.

Head to Waist length?  We assume you will always use a throw of some kind over your legs.

White?  To better illuminate your reading light and to see and count all the buggers who can't get thru.

Weighs 3/4 oz
(20 grams)

Complete ready to hang over any hammock

dp Sleeping Bags and Hammock Under-quilts ...

First a word about dp Sleeping Bag and Under-quilt engineering in our quest for lighter, warm, better gear.

We use a non-breathable inner fabric because it is a fantastic heat retainer.   Once you become familiar with this technology, your dp Sleeping Bag and your dp Under Quilt will become your light weight, multi-purpose friends, your favorite pieces of gear.

Under certain conditions our design may cause condensation.  But condensation can be created under certain conditions even with breathable fabrics.  Ask any mountain climber about their down sleeping bags “doubling” in weight with  condensation turning to ice.  We've all seen the photos of climbers with their sleeping bags on top of their tents attempting to dry them.   dp does recommend you don't have bare skin against the non-breathable fabric.  Doing this prevents any clammy sensation.

Want more heat retention or hanging in temps below 50*, the best solution we have found, expense and weight wise is to "layer" more than one dp quilt.  I'm sure you understand the "layering" principle with the clothes you wear.  Simply apply this principle to your sleeping kit.

We've found if you use two dp quilts layered, your temp rating goes down to 25* for most.

Plus, with layering, you've just made your kit VERY versatile while keeping your focus on lightweight and low cost.

We believe in "packing" only items that conditions necessitate.  Why carry extra weight you don't need on your trip?

dp Sleeping Bag with Neck Collar  ...

Picture
_
Our dp Sleeping Bag was designed for hammock use, but can be used in any camping situation.

It is so easy to get in and out of.  Our open back allows multiple sleeping arrangements.

The no-zipper design is priceless.

Temperature rating with our "Cozy" 100% polyester insulation is 50* for most.

We use Polyester insulation because synthetics will provide some warmth even if wet.

(We're sure you know ... Wet Down is a nightmare on the trail)

Always keep the non-breathable, gray fabric closest to your body.

We recommend you put your head thru the neck collar and then decide if you want your feet in the bag or just let the bag lay on top of you.

Our Sewn elastic, Felt fabric,  "Neck Collar"  keeps drafts away and warm in, is a "super" feature with no zippers, no snaps, no cords to adjust ... Our neck collar really sets this sleeping bag apart from 99% of the market.

We suggest you nearly always use the dp Neck Collar even if you don't have your feet in the foot box.  It keeps the quilt on your body even with your arms out from under the quilt.  Trust us, once you realize the features of our sleeping bag design, you will reach for it "first" on nearly every trip.

Large 24" foot box shown here on its side is very easy to get in and out of.

Fits people up to 6 feet tall.  (80" x 50" at cutting)   Custom sizing available, email us your requirements for pricing.

The dp Sleeping Bag pictured weighs under 19 ounces.

dp Sleeping Bag without Neck Collar ...

dp Sleeping Bag / quilt without our sewn Felt fabric Neck Collar.

Same design and materials as our ''collared" sleeping bag above and 15 grams lighter.

Not having the dp sewn Felt fabric Neck Collar puts the temperature rating at 55* - 60* for most as there is usually  a lot more air circulation around your upper body as you move.  Still a GREAT piece of gear for your trips.

Maybe use this bag for layering or warm weather?

Very easy to attach to your hammock.  One small hook on each end.

The dp Under Quilt "floats" with your movements while you are in your hammock while retaining warmth.
